About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hatchery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hatchery. This key role will be responsible for ensuring the successful hatching of eggs, managing hatchery staff, and maintaining optimal conditions for hatching and chick development.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the incubation process and ensure proper conditions for egg hatching.
Manage and supervise hatchery staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and productivity goals.
Monitor egg quality, fertility, and hatchability rates to optimize production.
Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain a healthy hatchery environment.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment, ensuring that they are in working order.
Maintain accurate records of hatchery operations, including egg collection, incubation, and chick production.
Ensure compliance with company standards and regulations regarding animal welfare and environmental safety.
Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics and sales, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of chicks.
Requirements
Experience:Â Minimum of 5 years in hatchery management or a related role in poultry farming.
Education:Â A degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of hatchery operations, egg incubation, and chick development.
Familiarity with biosecurity measures and disease control.
Leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication skills for interacting with staff, management, and other departments.
Technical Knowledge:
Experience with hatchery equipment and machinery.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve hatchery performance.
Physical Requirements:Â Ability to work in a farm environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting light to moderate loads.
